The Menopause Shift

Workplace menopause training, consultancy and culture change.

Menopause is a workplace issue.

It can affect confidence, concentration, attendance, performance, relationships and career progression. Yet many managers still feel unsure about what to say, what support to offer, or how to begin the conversation.

The Menopause Shift helps organisations move beyond awareness and create practical, lasting change.

Through workplace training, consultancy and policy support, I help employers build confident managers, supportive cultures and working environments where employees experiencing menopause feel understood, valued and able to thrive.

Is your organisation ready to support menopause at work?

Menopause affects people differently.

For some, symptoms may be manageable. For others, they can have a significant impact on day-to-day working life.

Employees may experience:

  • Difficulty concentrating or remembering information

  • Anxiety, low confidence or changes in mood

  • Disrupted sleep and fatigue

  • Hot flushes and changes in body temperature

  • Headaches, migraines or physical discomfort

  • Increased absence or reduced performance

  • Concerns about being judged, overlooked or misunderstood

Without the right knowledge and support, talented and experienced employees may struggle in silence, reduce their hours, step back from opportunities or leave the workplace altogether.

The Menopause Shift gives organisations the confidence, language and practical tools needed to respond effectively.

How I Support Organisations -

Manager Awareness Workshops

Managers are often the first point of contact when an employee is struggling, but many feel nervous about saying the wrong thing.

My manager workshops help leaders understand menopause, recognise how symptoms may affect work and approach conversations with confidence and sensitivity.

Managers will learn:

  • What menopause is and how it can affect working life

  • How to start a supportive conversation

  • What questions are appropriate to ask

  • How to listen without making assumptions

  • What reasonable workplace adjustments may help

  • How to respond consistently and compassionately

  • When to involve HR or seek further guidance

The aim is simple: managers should leave knowing how to have the first conversation.

Employee Support Workshops

Employee workshops provide a safe, informative and supportive space for people to learn more about menopause and its potential impact.

Sessions can include:

  • Understanding perimenopause, menopause and post-menopause

  • Recognising common symptoms

  • Managing menopause at work

  • Preparing for conversations with managers

  • Exploring practical workplace support

  • Building confidence and reducing isolation

  • Signposting to further information and support

Workshops can be delivered as structured training sessions or in a more informal, discussion-based format.

Business Meeting Discussion

Senior Leadership Briefings

Successful workplace change needs visible support from senior leaders.

Leadership briefings help decision-makers understand why menopause matters to the organisation and what effective support looks like in practice.

Briefings can cover:

  • The organisational impact of menopause

  • Employee wellbeing and retention

  • Manager capability and confidence

  • Workplace culture and inclusion

  • Policy, process and organisational responsibility

  • Practical next steps for implementation

These sessions are designed to create understanding, commitment and clear direction from the top.

Menopause Policy Review and Implementation

A menopause policy should be more than a document stored on an internal system.

It should be practical, accessible and reflected in everyday workplace behaviour.

I can support your organisation with:

  • Reviewing an existing menopause policy

  • Creating a new policy or guidance document

  • Identifying gaps in current processes

  • Aligning policy with manager training

  • Developing clear routes for employees seeking support

  • Communicating the policy across the organisation

  • Supporting managers with implementation

  • Ensuring the policy feels relevant and usable

  •

The goal is to turn written commitments into meaningful workplace practice.

Ongoing Consultancy and Advisory Support

Menopause support is not a one-off event.

Organisations may need ongoing guidance as situations arise, policies change, managers encounter new challenges or workplace culture develops.

Ongoing consultancy can include:

  • Advice for HR and People teams

  • Guidance on individual workplace situations

  • Support for managers

  • Policy and process updates

  • Follow-up training

  • Employee listening sessions

  • Internal awareness campaigns

  • Regular reviews and recommendations

This provides your organisation with a trusted point of contact when questions arise.

Measurement and Reporting

Training should lead to change.

I can help organisations review the impact of their menopause initiatives through:

  • Pre-session and post-session feedback

  • Manager confidence assessments

  • Employee feedback

  • Engagement levels

  • Key themes and concerns

  • Recommendations for future action

  • Follow-up reviews

This helps demonstrate progress and identify where further support may be needed.

Why Workplace Menopause Support Matters

Supporting menopause at work is not about giving special treatment.

It is about ensuring experienced and capable employees are not disadvantaged because of symptoms that may be temporary, manageable and supported through relatively simple changes.

The right support can help organisations:

  • Retain experienced employees

  • Reduce avoidable absence

  • Improve manager confidence

  • Strengthen employee trust

  • Create more open workplace conversations

  • Improve wellbeing and engagement

  • Support equality and inclusion

  • Reduce the risk of issues being poorly handled

  • Build a healthier and more supportive culture

Small changes can make a significant difference.

I help organisations create conversations, confidence and practical action.

Your managers will understand what to say.

Your employees will understand how to ask for support.

Your organisation will have a clearer plan for moving forward.

A Flexible Approach for Your Organisation

Every workplace is different.

Your organisation may be at the beginning of its menopause journey, or you may already have training and policies in place but need help turning them into something more effective.

Support can be tailored around:

  • The size and structure of your organisation

  • Your existing policies and training

  • The needs of managers and employees

  • Your workplace culture

  • Your available time and budget

  • Your short-term and long-term priorities

Sessions can be delivered online or in person, depending on location and requirements.

Start the Conversation

You do not need to have everything in place before asking for support.

A workplace menopause consultation is an opportunity to discuss where your organisation is now, what challenges you are facing and what practical next steps may be appropriate.

Together, we can create a clear and realistic approach that works for your organisation and your people.

Create a workplace where menopause can be discussed, supported and managed with confidence.
